During the 1960's - 1970's Bloomingdale's store in NYC had the most far out, psychedelic furniture rooms. They were created by designer Barbara D' Arcy.

The rooms featured projection screens, shag rugs, inflatable furniture, "cave rooms", corrugated cardboard (Frank Gehry), acrylic lighting, supergraphics, plastic furniture (Kartell), amoeba-shaped felt risers and walls, free form sofas (Pierre Cardin) and more!
