If you have been wondering what Grayson and I were up to last month, we were watching Yo Gabba Gabba! Yes, my 4 month old son and I are hooked on the Nick Jr. TV show. It's awesome! If you haven't seen it, you must check it out!

The show features the host DJ Lance Rock, a dancing, singing dude who looks like he is an ex-member of the group Deee-Lite. He wears an orange jumpsuit and fuzzy hat and dances like a raver. He carries a big boombox and when it opens, it reveals five toy monsters: Brobee, Foofa, Muno, Plex, and Toodee.

They magically come to life and the show begins. The monsters like to sing, dance and teach kids valuable life lessons. For example, kids learn to eat their veggies with the song "There's a party in my tummy".
Dancy Dance time is when Plex the magic robot beams a guest star into their world. He or she teaches them a favorite dance. I love it when Elijah Wood does his "Puppetmaster dance".
Cool Tricks is a segment in which a kid or adult teaches the audience, you guessed it, a cool trick. I like the episode where a little boy balances a spoon on his nose. Biz' Beat of the Day is a fun segment where Biz Markie does beatboxing. Wow!
Mark Mothersbaugh from Devo is also a repeating guest. He teaches kids to draw and then his drawing comes to life through animation.
Every so often, during the show, a kid will appear and he or she says "My name is .... I like to dance". They are dancing and sporting a cool Yo Gabba Gabba character shirt. My friend Charissa and I like them so much we tried to make them for our boys. She bought t shirts, colored felt fabric, and she downloaded pictures of the characters from the Nick Jr. website to use as a pattern.
I haven't sewn anything since 8th grade Home Economics class so my first attempt to hand make something for Grayson didn't come out so good. I attempted to make a Muno shirt for him but it looks like a little kid made it, which could be good or bad, I guess. I don't think I will post a photo of it. It's too embarassing. But it was made with love.
After I went through all the trouble of sewing a shirt, I found out that you can buy Yo Gabba Gabba t shirts, monster toys, etc. online via KidRobot. Wow!
