A Blast at the Starlux Hotel

We had a blast this weekend. For Memorial Day weekend we went to the Jersey shore to Wildwood NJ. We stayed at this super cool retro boutique hotel called The Starlux. It is a 1950s hotel that has been completely refurbished and renovated in retro Doo Wop style.

Upon driving up to the hotel, we passed by 2 airstream trailers that you can actually stay in. The hotel itself is so cool. It has a huge hyperbolic parabola jutting out the front roof. The lobby and lounge area are all decked out retro style. The heart shaped heated swimming pool is just adorable as so are the metal palm trees.

We sprung for the 2 room suite. Our queen size bed had a boomerang pattern bedspread. The furniture was all custom made in blonde wood with a danish modern feel. The lighting fixtures were all retro including bullet sconces and lava lamps. The kitchen even had retro laminate counters and melamine dinnerware. The walls were hand painted in a groovy mod pattern.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Starlux and the town of Wildwood was so much fun as well. We went to Morey's Piers to walk down the boardwalk and our son loved the amusement park rides.

If you live in the NY, NJ area, Wildwood is only 3 hours away from NYC. I highly recommend Wildwood beach and staying at the Starlux. It is well worth the trip.
