We had a thrilling day yesterday. We decided to check out the view of The Octagon and Roosevelt Island from Manhattan. We rode the air tram which let us off at E59th st. and 2nd ave. We walked along 2nd ave up to E76th st, then walked along the Manhattan side of the East River up to E86th st.
We went to Carl Schurz Park which has amazing views of Roosevelt Island, The RFK Triborough Bridge, Ward's Island Bridge, Roosevelt Island Lighthouse and The Octagon.

Our building looks stately and elegant from the other side. It is sparkling and bright with its light grey and white stone and glass windows. The restored dome looks glorious. There is also a lot of green grass and trees around our building which is almost unheard of in NYC. Now that we have seen Roosevelt Island and The Octagon from the other side, we definitely feel like we have chosen the best place to live in NYC. We are so lucky to live here. The building is amazing and the friendly people who live (and work) at The Octagon are equally as wonderful.
