This holiday season why not plan a road trip to Brevard, North Carolina. It will be so nice to see the snow, the mountains and the aluminum Christmas trees. Huh??
Brevard, NC is home to ATOM: Aluminum Tree & Aesthetically Challenged Seasonal Ornament Museum and Research Center, the world’s only museum dedicated to the preservation and public enjoyment of vintage Aluminum Trees. It is open to the public, for 7 weeks in November 2006 through January 2007.
The Aluminum Tree & Aesthetically Challenged Seasonal Ornament Museum and Research Center (ATOM) will display 50 to 60 vintage aluminum trees along with numerous color wheels, revolving tree stands and holiday kitsch from the 1950’s and 1960’s. The Museum’s 2006 theme is “Shining Examples”, featuring new themed trees such as the "Mark Foley Tree" and the "North Korea Nuclear Tree".
