While rummaging through the contents of an estate sale I came across dozens of pinup style photos. I quickly paid $5 for the lot, took them home, and spent an hour or so admiring their quirkiness.
What I love so much about them is the quality they have to instantly transport you back to a time when any girl could imagine herself to be a pinup queen. There's just the barest suggestion of tease to these images, this nameless woman was most likely being a tad bit risqué as a lark to entertain her husband or boyfriend.
But in their innocence they capture the whole feel of the fifties, where everyone had a bit of glamour in them and the aesthetics of design was filled with the promise of that which was yet to come.
