My friends Bret and Charissa went to Easter Island and they got me something much better than a lousy t-shirt. They got me this amazing moai tiki bottle of Pisco Capel liquor.

They went on the Condor Adventure Travels which took them across the world to Easter Island, aka Rapa Nui, an island in the South Pacific belonging to Chile. It is one of the most isolated islands in the world and is most famous for its monolithic Moai stone statues that line the shores. The Moai were carved from volcanic ash by the local inhabitants around 1100-1600 AD.

Our friends bought the Pisco Moai liquor in a store in Santiago, Chile.
Charissa says, "Pisco Sours and Pisco & Pineapple (they called it P&P) were very popular. The liqour is very strong, and I'm not a big drinker, so it was more pineapple than Pisco in my mix."

Here is a scan of the label, it has a recipe for a Pisco Sour.

There is not much information to be found on the internet for this Pisco Moai liquor. I did find a thread on the Tiki Central Forums written by James Teitelbaum, the author of Tiki Road Trip.

He discusses the liquor bottle and has a recipe for a Aku Hall Sour (Pisco Sour).

I met James at Hukilau

I found a French website which you can purchase the Pisco Moai but the currency is in Euros.

Ooga-Mooga has a very nice photo of the bottle on his site.
