We have been living here at The Octagon on Roosevelt Island for almost a year now and we finally made it into the garden. It is a garden that is tended by the residents of Roosevelt Island. Each family can have their own spot. The garden is located near The Octagon between the baseball and soccer fields. It was a beautiful June day so we wandered into the garden and to our surprise, the flowers were all in bloom. It was quite magical.

My 20 month old son loves to explore. He and my husband found a hidden fountain with sculptures. I enjoyed looking at the various types of flowers. We are from Florida and I had a tropical garden there. I really do not know much about northern gardens. I am amazed by how well the flowers grow here. I guess it is from all the rain we got in the Spring. I have a friend who is part of the Roosevelt Island Garden Club, she says there is a long waiting list to get a spot in the garden. If you are going to live here for awhile, joining the Garden Club would be a fun thing to do.
