I must have built in "tiki radar" because I can find a tiki bar anywhere, even in Spain! Yes we were lucky enough to stumble upon a fun little tiki bar in Barcelona.
It is called the Kahiki and the Barcelonians got the tiki vibe quite right. The two story bar is decorated with bamboo, wood and ceramic tiki masks, the friendly bartender wore a tropical Hawaiian style shirt, the menu was full of tasty tiki drinks to choose from. My Spanish is quite rusty and in Barcelona, they speak a dialect of Spanish called Catalan. Luckily the menu had pictures so we just pointed to what looked interesting. Brian ordered the Bastardo Sufridor which I think is like the Suffering Bastard. I played it safe and got the Mai Tai. The drinks were tasty but Brian said his wasn't strong enough. I attempted to ask the bartender in Spanish "Compra tiki mug por favor?". He looked at me with a befuddled face... So I pointed to the mug, then pointed to my money. He said "Ahh ceramico!". I guess that is the Spanish word for mug.

I bought this mug. The Suffering Bastard was served in it. We had a blast at the Kahiki Barcelona and I am so happy I was able to bring home a tiki mug as a fun souvenir from our trip.
